Major Milestone For Kimball Bridge Road Bridge Replacement

Released February 05, 2024 03:03 PM
Last year, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and its contractors began work on the GA400 Bridge Replacements Project (PI 0001757) in Fulton County, which is replacing the Kimball Bridge Road, Roberts Drive, and Pitts Road bridges over GA400.

A significant milestone has been achieved on Kimball Bridge Road – the bridge deck for the new bridge has been poured! In the coming months, crews will continue working on the new bridge, building walls, installing storm drains, applying the aesthetic elements, and tying the new bridge into the roadway.

The detour will remain in effect while crews work on completing the remaining tasks required to open the bridge to traffic. Progress on the bridge remains on schedule, and the bridge is anticipated to open in the second quarter of 2024.

Stay tuned to City of Alpharetta and Georgia DOT channels to learn more about progress and those upcoming milestones.
