Residents Invited To Ask The Arborist

Released March 22, 2024 11:38 AM
The City of Alpharetta believes that a healthy tree canopy is an important part of a healthy community and vibrant quality of life, so we have a team of arborists on our staff that help manage the urban forest system, plan new tree plantings in parks and other municipal properties, and monitor and maintain the health of trees in our rights-of-way, parks, and other public places.  A large part of Alpharetta’s tree canopy is comprised of trees located on private properties like yours, however, so every property owner has a part to play in ensuring that your children and future generations can enjoy a tree-rich community.

But, unlike the City, you probably do not have a trained arborist on hand to advise you on the steps to take when a tree in your yard is underperforming or diseased.

That is why we have launched a simple program called Ask the Arborist.  Alpharetta residents are encouraged to visit www.alpharetta.ga.us/askthearborist and submit their tree care-related questions.  Each month, the City Arborist will select one question to answer in-depth, and the answers will be posted on the City website and featured in our weekly newsletter and across our social media channels.
