City Business Offices Closed Friday, September 27

Released September 26, 2024 08:47 PM
(Updated 8:00 PM - September 26, 2024)   Based on the latest update from the National Weather Service, the approach of Hurricane Helene has slowed significantly.  As a result, Alpharetta is now expected to see the most powerful winds and largest impacts from the storm between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Friday, September 27.

Between these hours, the National Weather Service forecasts that Alpharetta will experience sustained winds of 48 mph with gusts up to 74 mph.  The City of Alpharetta strongly urges all residents to remain indoors and off area roads while these dangerous conditions are present.

In the interest of the safety of our citizens, City of Alpharetta business offices will be closed on Friday, September 27.

Our business office employees will be working remotely throughout the day and will be ready to assist those needing municipal services.  Services can be accessed va the City of Alpharetta website (https://www.alpharetta.ga.us) or by calling 678-297-6000.

Many of our employees will be out in the elements overnight tonight and following the storm as we respond to needs and lead Alpharetta through the cleanup and recovery from Helene's passage.  Please give our team members and the utility crews and others working to return our community to normal the space needed to do their jobs and ensure they get to return home safely when their work is done.
