Released August 26, 2024 01:40 PM

City Encourages Schools, Families, Organizations and Local Businesses to Participate

Each fall Downtown Alpharetta is alive with over 150 creative scarecrows designed and decorated by the community. This sight signals to residents and visitors that fall is officially here and warms the heart of all who pass by or take a downtown walking tour during the month of October.

The City of Alpharetta is currently accepting applications from local schools, non-profits, neighborhoods, families, and businesses who want to create a scarecrow and be part of this beloved tradition. The application deadline is Tuesday, September 10, and you can download the application form at https://bit.ly/SCH2024

The scarecrow application process is simple, open to everyone, and only requires creativity! Any family-friendly design is welcome and scarecrow placement will be determined by the City of Alpharetta. Scarecrows will be on display from September 26 – October 30.

Self-guided tours of the scarecrow “patches” are encouraged and detailed maps will be available online once the scarecrow patches are open! For fun, all scarecrows are eligible for this year’s Scarecrow Community Competition.

• Spookiest Crow
