Alpharetta's Natural Resource’s Commission, the City’s Community Agriculture Program and the City of Alpharetta invite you to an informational Workshop about rain barrels and how to include them in your home landscape. We will meet at 6:30pm on November 14th in the Alpharetta Public Works Department located at 1790 Hembree Road.
Rain barrels are a simple and effective way to collect and store rainwater, reducing water waste while helping your plants thrive. Participants will learn about the environmental benefits of rainwater harvesting, types of rain barrels and how to choose the right one for your garden. Have you considered getting a rain barrel but wondered how to handle the extra water once your barrel is full? A short presentation will introduce site and selection considerations when planning to add a rain barrel. Additional information will be available regarding where to get a rain barrel and what kind of options are available, such as diverters, pumps, etc. A “RainRecycle Do It Yourself Rain Barrel Kit with diverter” will be raffled as a door prize.
There is a minimal charge to attend this workshop. City of Alpharetta Residents: $5.00 and Non-city residents: $7.50. Class size is limited so please register.
