The newest section of the Alpha Loop, stretching from Old Milton Parkway to Northwinds Parkway and including a tunnel under Westside Parkway, opened June 1. The roughly 1-mile connection may be one of the most scenic strolls in Alpharetta and features an impressive overlook bridge.
With the opening of this $14 million section, the Alpha Loop now connects Downtown Alpharetta to Avalon and the Northwinds District.
The AlphaLoop is a dynamic and transformative project for Alpharetta; a network of urban, multi-use trails that will connect our neighborhoods to activity centers, improve mobility, promote healthier lifestyles, and enhance the quality of life of everyone who lives, works, and spends time in our community. When the Alpha Loop is fully completed, the 4-mile network will link neighborhoods with more than 15,000 jobs and four of Alpharetta’s most energized activity centers: Avalon, Downtown, the North Point Eco District, and Northwinds. It will also connect to the 26-mile Big Creek Greenway, providing access to neighboring communities, and to the MARTA regional transit system.
