Biography: Joe Barranco, husband, father, and grandfather. Four married kids with nine grandkids. University of Dayton Industrial Engineering degree. Worked for the General Electric Company for 35 years. The last position as Vice President of Worldwide Manufacturing in GE Lighting. After retirement he was a manufacturing consultant for many venture capitalists companies. He started in digital photography after he retired. When the consulting jobs started interfering with his photography trips, he quit!
Photography has been a wonderful hobby that fills his time with wonder and constant learning. He started doing photography workshops to learn from the best and use their knowledge and expertise to go to the best places at the right times. He loves being in the field and experiencing all that nature has to offer. He feels blessed.
Description: At 80 Joe is on a quest to find lighter photography equipment. Over the last few years he has begun to realize that these smart phones have become great cameras and they are always with you. The smart phones are also a great backup camera on workshops. They are easier to use to find the right composition before you even set up a tripod. Come join us to get insight into Joe’s use of the cell phone for photography.
* GNPA ALPHARETTA Chapter Monthly Meetings, which include speaker presentations, at the Alpharetta Arts Center are open to the general public to join at no cost.
