Certain trucks may travel in and through the City of Alpharetta using only those streets and roads highlighted in the Truck Route Map illustrated above.
The City of Alpharetta prohibits the use of certain streets within the community by any vehicle designed or operated for the transportation of property, including raw materials, and whose body weight or whose combined body and load weight exceeds 18 tons. There are limited exceptions to this prohibition:
A truck may travel on a prohibited street to reach a destination on a prohibited street provided that the truck uses approved truck routes until reaching the intersection of the prohibited street nearest the destination.

A truck may travel on a prohibited street when necessary to leave a point of origin within the City of Alpharetta that is located on a prohibited street provided the truck leaves the prohibited street at the nearest intersection of a truck route.

A truck may be operated on a prohibited street if owned or operated by the City of Alpharetta, public utilities, or a contractor or material provider while engaged in the repair, maintenance, or construction of public streets, street improvements, or street utilities within the City of Alpharetta.
All other trucks must travel in and through the City of Alpharetta using only those routes highlighted in the Truck Route Map illustrated above.
The drivers of trucks violating these requirements shall be subject to citation and fine.
